San Antonio Welcome Center

At Global Refuge, we believe everyone—regardless of status—should be welcomed with dignity and open arms.

We established a field office in San Antonio, TX in 2022 to provide protection-centered and trauma-informed case management services to those ineligible for traditional refugee resettlement services, including asylum seekers and those arriving through humanitarian parole.

En Global Refuge creemos que sin importar su estatus migratorio usted debe ser Bienvenido dignamente y recibido con los brazos abiertos. Tenemos una oficina establecida en la ciudad de San Antonio, TX desde el 2022 para proveer protección centralizada, basada en el trauma individual vivido manejando el caso a personas que no son elegibles para los programas tradicionales que ofrecen servicios a refugiados, incluyendo quienes buscan asilo al igual que los que ingresan al país a través de un parole humanitario.

Services for Asylum Seekers

• Mental health screening and referral to mental health and psychosocial support
• Connection to community health providers
• Legal services, including know-your rights support, guidance to secure legal counsel, and support in obtaining assistance with applications where needed
• Connection to community-based resources such as food banks, volunteer services, and faith communities
• Education services, including school enrollment for school-age children, and access to youth and adult education programming, including English classes
• Emergency food, housing, and financial assistance

• Chequeos de salud metal y referidos a servicios de salud mental y apoyo psicosocial.
• Lo/a conectamos con proveedores de salud en su comunidad.
• Servicios legales, incluyendo apoyo para que usted conozca sus derechos, guía para saber cómo asegurar un abogado, y apoyo para obtener asistencia para llenar aplicaciones cuando sea necesario.
• Lo/a conectamos con recursos dentro de su comunidad como bancos de alimentos, servicios de voluntariados y comunidades de fe.
• Lo/a referimos a servicios educacionales incluyendo el registro en la escuela para niños menores de edad, y el acceso para jóvenes y adultos a educación programática como clases de inglés.
• Comida de emergencia, albergue y ayuda financiera.

Services for Ukrainians

All Ukrainians who were granted humanitarian parole (UHP) upon entry to the United States after February 24, 2022 are now eligible for services and assistance through a new 90-day program from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement. This program is designed to help Ukrainians thrive in their new communities by providing services including:

• Initial assessment of needs and home visit
• Emergency housing support (if necessary)
• Work authorization application
• Public benefits application (including Social Security and Medicare)
• Medical screening
• School enrollment
• Referrals to employment programs
• Cultural orientation
• Mental health referrals
• Legal assistance referrals

ДОПОМОГА ДЛЯ УКРАЇНЦІВ У США

(UHP) після в’їзду до Сполучених Штатів після 24 лютого 2022 року, тепер мають право на послуги та допомогу в рамках нової 90-денної програми від Управління з питань розселення біженців США.Ця програма розроблена, щоб допомогти українцям успішно адаптуватися в їхніх нових громадах: допомага є з реєстрацією в програмах працевлаштування та в програмах з отримання соціальної допомоги від держави, направленнями до медичних та психологічних служб підтримки, тощо.
