Saving life, sharing hope ... Mobile medical clinics in northern Uganda took us to Aloni, a small village in the middle of nowhere. As we saw patients, a young boy came up for treatment. His frail body was covered in ringworm. He spoke softly and avoided eye contact as he explained how he was sick and orphaned. We suspected that he was HIV positive and made the decision to transport him with us to town for proper testing. As we finished up the clinic, Drew Stephens (a pastor and medic from Colorado) prayed with Morris and was able to share the hope of Christ with him. He was excited and we sang all the way to town. He indeed tested positive for HIV, and that day began years of treatment and care for Morris. His funny, stubborn personality and sweet smile blessed everyone he met and we cherished the time we had with him until he went to be with the Lord in 2011.
