Matt Nowland grew up in rural Missouri and received his medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1999. He completed his residency at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins and has practiced both family and emergency medicine in Colorado since that time.

Dr. Nowland has been involved with GRI projects since 2005. He has traveled to most of the places where GRI has worked including Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Uganda and Congo. He loves both providing medical treatment to those in need as well as teaching and equipping local medical personnel in the countries where GRI works.

In his free time, Dr. Nowland enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Erin, and their four active children. He also enjoys following local high school sports, running, cycling, hiking and fishing.
